Sausage and Rice Stuffing

A Flavorful Blend of Turkey Sausage, Brown Rice and Fresh Herbs

Jump to Recipe

This flavorful sausage and rice stuffing makes for a delicious twist on traditional stuffing. While traditional stuffing is typically made with bread, this recipe uses brown rice as the starch. Specifically, the basmati brown rice adds a nutty flavor and a slightly chewy texture. Moreover, the addition of fresh turkey sausage provides a savory and slightly spicy kick. Additionally, scallions and savory herbs give the stuffing freshness and depth of flavor.

Importantly, compared to traditional stuffing, this recipe is a healthier option. Brown rice is a whole grain that is higher in fiber and nutrients than white bread, making it a more nutritious choice. Additionally, turkey sausage is lower in fat and calories than pork sausage, making it a leaner protein option.

In terms of flavor, this stuffing is just as delicious as traditional stuffing, if not more so. Not to mention, the combination of savory herbs, garlic, and scallions adds layers of flavor that complement the turkey sausage and brown rice perfectly. Hence, the result is a stuffing that is rich, flavorful, and satisfying.
