Peppered Sesame, Soy Chicken Wings

Ingredients

4 to 5 pounds chicken wingettes

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced fresh thyme

1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper

2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice Powder

3 tablespoon good quality soy sauce

2 tablespoon good quality sesame oil

Three scallions chopped to your liking for the garnish

Olive oil for greasing the baking sheet

  • Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towel
  • In a large bowl, place the chicken and mix in all the ingredients
  • Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for at least two hours or overnight
  • Once the chicken wings are fully marinated, remove it from the refrigerator and bring to room temperature (about 30 minutes)
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease a large baking sheet pan with the olive oil (for easy clean up line the pan with a baking sheet or foil wrap – grease only after you line the baking sheet)
  • Spread the chicken wings in a single layer in the pan
  • Pour any remaining marinade over the chicken
  • Bake for one hour total – turn wings over half way through the cooking time
  • Plate the wings and sprinkle with the scallions
  • Enjoy!
