Equipment

  • Gas Grill

Ingredients

  • 3 corn on the cobs (corn in in its husk)
  • enough water to soak the corns

Instructions

PREHEAT GAS GRILL 450F TO 500F DEGREES. WHEN HEATED, KEEP A SECTION OF THE GRILL AS INDIRECT HEAT.

  • Remove 2 or 3 layers of the outer layers of the corn husks. And break or cut of the tough bottom stalk.
Note: leave enough of the husk on so that the corn kernels is fully covered to allow it to steam.
  • Gently peel back the husks but do not peel it off all the way and remove any of the frilly strands. Pull the husks back onto the corn to cover the kernels.
  • Fill a large bowl or aluminum foil pan with cold water. Submerge the corns in the water. Allow the corns to soak for 30 to 60 minutes, turning them once or twice to allow the corns to soak all over.
Note: The corns will typically float in the water so it's necessary to rotate for all over soaking.
  • 30 to 60 minutes later, remove the corns from the water. Discard the water.
  • Shake off the excess water from the corn.
  • Grill the corns over indirect heat for 15 minutes, turning them a few times during the cooking.
  • 15 minutes later, move the corn onto the direct heat. Grill 3 to 5 minutes, rotating them once or twice.
  • Remove the corns from the grill. When cool enough to handle, remove the husks and if any strands still remain.
  • Serve with your favorite entree and enjoy.
