Grilled Spicy Porterhouse Steak

A very quick and simple grilled steak. Great for any summertime entrée.

Ingredients

  • 2 porterhouse steaks about 1 to 1 1/4 lb each & 1" thickness
  • 4 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Rinse the steaks and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. In a small bowl combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, peppers and salt. Mix gently with a spoon to combine.

  3. Season each steak on both sides using half of the marinade on each steak. Allow the seasoned steaks to sit for two hours or up to overnight.

    Note: The marinade is just enough to coat the steaks. The steak can also be grilled immediately after coating it with the marinade.

  4. Preheat an outdoor gas grill - 550 to 600 degrees. Grill the steak to your likeness. I grilled this steak to medium doneness - grill for 8 minutes (4 minutes per side).

    Notes: Cook time may vary depending on the thickness of the steak and the temperature of the grill.

    Alternatively: you can use a charcoal grill or sear the steaks in a heavy bottom fry pan on the stovetop..

    Allow the steak to rest for at least 8 minutes before serving. Plate and serve with your favorite accompaniment. Enjoy.
