Ingredients

  • 2 large carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1 Granny Smith apple Peeled, cored and quartered,
  • 3 inches turmeric root peeled
  • 2 inches Ginger root peeled
  • 1 small celery stalk chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mint leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 16 ounces bottled water

OPTIONAL USE: Make a probiotic drink

  • kefir milk unsweetened. May use plain Greek yogurt
  • sweetener of choice if desired.

Instructions

  • Dump all ingredients into a blender. Blend for 30 to 40 seconds or until all ingredients are crushed but not smooth.
    Note: you want a strainable texture so some small bits should be evident
    Alternately, the fruits and veggies can be added to a juicer to extract the juice.
    2 large carrots, 1 Granny Smith apple, 3 inches turmeric root, 2 inches Ginger root, 1 small celery stalk, 1 tablespoon mint leaves, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon , 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom , 16 ounces bottled water
  • Using a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth placed over a jug, strain the mixture. Squeeze out as much of the liquid and discard the pulp. The liquid is now ready to use. This batch makes approximately 3 cups and can be store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Drink 2 shots in the morning and optionally drink 2 shots in the evening.
  • For a probiotic drink, combine 1 cup of the juice with 1/2 cup unsweetened kefir milk. Stir and add ice if preferred and sweetener is optional.
