Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound haricot verts French stye string beans. rinsed and trimmed if needed
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey white or dark meat
  • 1 medium onion peeled and sliced
  • 2-4 serrano peppers Chopped 2 peppers
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced ginger
  • 3 scallions chopped
  • 1/3 cup fresh cuban oregano finely chopped (Broad Lead Thyme) or substitute 2 tablespoons regular thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh married man pork (basil) or use Thai basil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat a large sauté pan using medium high heat. Add the olive oil
    1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Add the string beans and sauté 3to 5 minutes. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Remove the beans and set aside.

  • Add the ground turkey. Mix and break up the meat. Cook until no longer pink and lightly browned. 5 to 6 minutes. Season with salt and freshly ground. black pepper.

  • Push the meat to the side. Add 1 – 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil if necessary in the vacant space.
  • Add the onions and peppers. Sauté 2 to 3 minutes until softened.

  • Add the garlic, ginger, oregano and basil. Mix and cook for 1 minute.

  • Add back the charred string beans, scallions, sesame oil, rice wine and soy sauce. Mix to combine all the ingredients. Turn off the stove. Plate and enjoy.
    Note: we love this over toasted coconut jasmine rice
