Season the asparagus and dump it all into a grill basket and grill away. A few minutes on the grill and you’ll have the most tasty al dente asparagus. The grill time will vary depending on the thickness of your asparagus and the temperature of your grill. It’s the perfect accompaniment for a grilled steak, chicken or fish. Grilled Asparagus | How to grill asparagus in a basket
A delectably tasty grilled asparagus seasoned with dill and garlic that is a perfect side dish.
- 2 pounds asparagus organic (about 2 bunch). Trim off the harder part of the stalks, usually about 3 inches.
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped. Can use up to 2 tablespoons.
- 1 clove fresh garlic pressed or very finely minced
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt or kosher. Adjust for your diet.
Preheat gas grill 450F to 500F degrees.
Rinse asparagus and cut off the tough bottom stalks (usually about 3 inches).
Add the asparagus to a mixing bowl or tray.
Add the olive oil, dill, garlic, salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to coat.
Place a grill basket on the grill and use direct heat.
Add the seasoned asparagus to the basket. Give it a quick mix. Close the grill and keep it closed as much as possible. Depending on the size of the asparagus grill anywhere from 8 and up to 15 minutes.
Note: Mix the asparagus 2 or 3 times to ensure all of them will get a bit charred.
Once the asparagus are bright green with a little bit of charred they are done. Transfer to a serving platter. Serve with your favorite entree. Enjoy!
