Ingredients

  • 2 pounds asparagus organic (about 2 bunch). Trim off the harder part of the stalks, usually about 3 inches.
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped. Can use up to 2 tablespoons.
  • 1 clove fresh garlic pressed or very finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt or kosher. Adjust for your diet.

Instructions

Preheat gas grill 450F to 500F degrees.

  1. Rinse asparagus and cut off the tough bottom stalks (usually about 3 inches).

  2. Add the asparagus to a mixing bowl or tray.

  3. Add the olive oil, dill, garlic, salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to coat.

  4. Place a grill basket on the grill and use direct heat.

  5. Add the seasoned asparagus to the basket. Give it a quick mix. Close the grill and keep it closed as much as possible. Depending on the size of the asparagus grill anywhere from 8 and up to 15 minutes.

Note: Mix the asparagus 2 or 3 times to ensure all of them will get a bit charred.

  6. Once the asparagus are bright green with a little bit of charred they are done. Transfer to a serving platter. Serve with your favorite entree. Enjoy!
