Simply begin by combing scallions, ginger, garlic, thyme leaves, porcini powder, red pepper flakes, ground cumin, soy sauce, sesame and extra virgin olive oils, and freshly ground black pepper. Additionally, a little bit of salt is optional. Mix well to create a tantalizing marinade. Next up, add the salmon steaks into the marinade, allowing them to soak up the delicious flavors for fifteen minutes, or up to thirty minutes.

Wrap up this easy and flavorful salmon steak by simply adding them to a broiler pan. Finally, for the perfect finish, broil the marinated steaks for four to five minutes. Or until it achieved your desired doneness. Ideally fish should be cooked to 141F degrees internal temperature. Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds Salmon steaks 2 pieces

MARINADE INGREDIENTS

Instructions

Make the Marinade AND season the salmon steaks

  • Dump all the marinade ingredients into a medium bowl. Mix to combine thoroughly.
    2 scallion, 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, 1 inch piece fresh ginger, 2 cloves fresh garlic, 1 teaspoon porcini powder, 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/2 – 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, 1/2 – 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, OPTIONAL: 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Rinse and dry the salmon steaks. Add the steaks to the bowl with the marinade and coat the salmon steaks thoroughly. Set aside to marinade for 15 to 30 minutes.
    1 1/2 pounds Salmon steaks

PREHEAT OVEN BROILER (if required):

  • Shake off excess marinade from salmon steaks. Place the salmon on a broiler pan or sheet pan. Pop it under the broiler for 4 to 6 minutes or until desired temperature.
    Notes: My oven has a high 450F degrees setting for the broiler and I put the salmon at least 4 to 6 inches below the broiler flame.
    WARNING: DO NOT LINE THE PAN WITH ANY PARCHMENT PAPER OR FOIL. AS IT WILL BURN AND CATCH ON FIRE!
  • Remove the salmon and serve with a side of veggies or fried rice. Enjoy!
