Ingredients

For the spice mix

For Cooking the Salmon

  • 2 pounds salmon steaks about 3 steaks 1 inch thickness
  • 1 spice mix recipe
  • 3 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced and seeds removed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped

Instructions

  • Combine the spice mix ingredients in a small prep bowl
    1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper , 1/2 teaspoon grond cumin, 1/2 teaspoon chipolte chili powder
  • Season the salmon steaks with all the spice mix

  • Heat a 10 – 12 inch cast iron skillet. Add the avocado oil. Use medium heat.
    3 tablespoons avocado oil
  • Add the salmon steaks to the pan. Cook each side 4 to 5 minutes until lightly golden.
    During the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking, add in the lemon slices. Tuck them into any empty spaces. Sprinkle in the dill.
    Use a spoon to spoon the lemony oil over the salmon. Turn off the stove and serve with your favorite side dishes.
