Nutrient Packed Water Spinach
Equipment
- 1 cast iron wok OPTIONAL
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 serrano peppers or jalapeños. chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger peeled and finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese white wine
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 large bunch Chinese water spinach rinsed and chopped into 3 inch pieces
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a large deep skillet or wok. Add the oil. Use medium heat.2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Sauté the hot peppers until fragrant – about 1 to 2 minutes.2 serrano peppers
- Add the garlic and ginger. Mix. Cook 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant.1 tablespoon garlic, 1 tablespoon ginger
- Add the soy sauce, white wine and sesame oil. Cook up to 1 minute to marry the flavors.2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Chinese white wine, 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- Turn up the flame to medium high. Add in the spinach, a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix and cook up to 1 minute or until the spinach is wilted. Plate and serve as a side dish. Enjoy!1 large bunch Chinese water spinach, salt and freshly ground black pepper
