These are some very seriously delicious mouthwatering chicken wings. This recipe is based off of my original Peppered Sesame Soy Sauce Chicken Wings that was first posted to the blog back in 2018. The minor tweak in this version still makes for the most beautiful wings. It’s a no brainer when it comes to preparation; only about five minutes to make the marinade. The wings are marinated and refrigerated for two hours. Roast and enjoy! Happy Cooking.

Sesame Soy Sauce Chicken Wings | Original Recipe

This amazingly simple and delicious recipe is an excellent appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds chicken wingettes

FOR THE MARINADE:

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil https://amzn.to/3dnwHVd
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce https://amzn.to/3mQzMQJ
  • 1 tablespoon fresh garlic crushed or finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt or kosher (adjust for your diet)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder https://amzn.to/3x2XIVq

Instructions

Let's make the marinade:

  1. Add all the marinade ingredients into a medium mixing bowl. Mix to combine.

Season the Chicken Wings:

  1. Add the chicken wings to the marinade and mix thoroughly to coat.

    Note: I rinse the wings and dry with paper towel.

  2. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Remove the wings from the fridge 30 minutes prior to cooking.

Preheat the oven 350F Degrees. Use the roast setting if your oven has this feature.

Let's Roast the Chicken Wings:

  1. Line a 1/2 sheet pan with parchment paper.

  2. Spread the wings in a single layer on the sheet pan. Drizzle any of the marinade remaining in the bowl over the wings.

  3. Roast the chicken wings in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

  4. Remove the sheetpan from the oven. Use a kitchen tong to flip the wings over. Return to the oven and roast for another 25 to 30 minutes.

  5. Remove the wings, and transfer to a platter. Garnish if desired. Enjoy!
