Ingredients

  • In a 2 or 3 quart pot, add the water, orange slices, cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves, juniper berries, cardamom seeds, sage leaves and peppercorns. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
    5 cups water, 1 orange, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anise, 5 – 6 cloves, 1 teaspoon juniper berries, 1/2 teaspoon cardamom seeds, 8 – 10 fresh sage leaves, white peppercorn
  • Turn off the flame. Add in the hibiscus dried flowers. Steep for 8 to 10 minutes.
    1 1/2 tablespoons hibiscus
  • Strain. Add honey or preferred sweetener if desired. Enjoy as a warm tea or cool and serve as a refreshing cold drink.
    2- 3 teaspoons Manukau honey
