The kiwis and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice supported the delicate flavor profile perfectly. Not to mention, the fresh turmeric and ginger root plus the cardamom accompanied the taste without distraction. When it came to the chia seeds, one will never know it’s in the smoothie because chia seeds have a bland taste. But it is an important add for the fiber profile.
What type of dragonfruit works best and what other types of fruit add balance to the smoothie?
There are many varieties of dragonfruits. However, the most common dragonfruits include, pink, yellow and red. While any of these types work, the red (red skinned and red fleshed) offer the most pronounced flavor. Importantly, the dragonfruit sports an awesome amount of nutrition, including a high amounts of fiber. Additionally, this fruit contains antioxidants and prebiotics. These two super nutrients may aid in reducing inflammation and promote healthy gut bacteria. When this superfood fruit combine with the densely nutritious kiwi and healthy pomegranate the nutrition value is even more impressive. Hence, this version of the dragonfruit kiwi pomegranate smoothie with its diverse health benefits, low calories and deliciousness lends itself to drinking several days during the week.
Furthermore, other types of fruits that works, includes mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, passionfruit, bananas, to name a few. When mixing and matching the fruits, shoot for balancing the nutrition with taste and achieving the lowest calories, if desired. Once you choose the fruits combination, then add flavorings like spices and herbs.
